Our products are made from a special blend:

Alpaca fiber is not a very well known material.
We often are asked, why use alpaca fiber?
Alpacas live in the high altitude of the Andes mountains in Peru and Bolivia. Long ago during the times of the Incan empire alpaca fiber was reserved for royalty. The Incans valued alpaca fleece over silver or gold.
Alpaca fleece is known as the ‘super’ fiber due to the following qualities:
- Super soft texture: Alpaca fiber is sometimes compared to cashmere. The fiber also has the luster of silk.
-
Warmth per weight: Approximately 3x the insulating capacity of sheep’s wool meaning garments are very light and warm.
-
Hypoallergenic: Incidence of allergic reactions is dramatically lower than other fibers.
-
Feel / No-itch: Has no lanolin and very low “prickle factor” thus is softer and less irritating.
- Additional performance characteristics: include stretch, water repellency, and odor reduction.
