Celebrating Pride with Purpose: Building Community and Giving Back

At Campo Alpaca, Pride Month is more than a celebration and it absolutely doesn't just count for the month of June — it’s a call to action to uplift and support the LGBTQIA+ community we are proud to be a part of.

I’m honored to serve on the board of the Center on Halsted, the Midwest’s largest LGBTQIA+ community center located in the heart of Chicago. Through my work on the Engagement Committee, I help foster connection and community by supporting initiatives that bring people together — including a new LGBTQIA+ Leaders Networking Series. This series is just one of the ways we’re creating space for queer professionals to collaborate, support one another, and lead with authenticity.

In alignment with these efforts, Campo Alpaca — is proud to support the Center on Halsted during Pride Month. Throughout June, we are donating 5% of all proceeds to the Center to help fund the essential programs and services that empower our LGBTQIA+ neighbors, from youth support and mental health counseling to housing and HIV testing services.

Campo has always stood for positive change — cambio positivo — and that includes using our platform to advocate for inclusion, equity, and community. Our mission to create sustainable, ethically made alpaca apparel is deeply tied to our belief that business can and should be a force for good — not just abroad in Peru, where our products are made, but also here at home.

This month, we invite you to shop with purpose. Whether you’re treating yourself to one of our handwoven scarves or looking for a meaningful gift, your purchase helps support a vibrant and thriving LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, we can celebrate Pride not just with words, but with impact.

With pride,
Katie Lorenz
