Our beanies are handknit by amazing women in small villages outside of Arequipa, Peru. These women are a group called the Chaska Collective. Knitting is a tradition passed on between generations. CAMPO has partnered with the locals to create safe spaces to these women to come, knit, make money, watch their kids, and support each other. The collective creates an opportunity for women to make money in a safe space; one where they can watch their children.
Your Campo beanies and headbands are hand knit (yes, using the needles) by a group a women called the Chaska Collective in two small villages outside of the city of Arequipa. This innovative group gives women the opportunity to make their own income to support themselves and their families in a flexible work environment; one that allows them to care for their children and build community at the same time.
