Campo Alpaca Alumni: Jacqueline Drake

Campo has had the privilege of working with amazing students over the last few years who have gone on to do wonderful things. Read more to learn about one of these awesome interns: Jackie Drake!

Congratulations to Jackie on her graduation from the University of Wisconsin Madison as part of the Class of 2021!

How many years has it been since you interned at CAMPO?
It has been almost a month.
Can you describe your internship experience at CAMPO? What were your responsibilities?
It was a wonderful experience! I did a little bit of everything at CAMPO. In general, I helped out with email marketing, social media work, graphic creation, campaign pitches, and assisting new interns. I also wrote a lot of blogs, articles, and worked on PR for a bit.
Where are you now in your professional career?
I am a digital media specialist at a local advertising agency in Madison called designCraft.
Why did you decide to join CAMPO? What struck out to you about the company?
I decided to join Campo for a few reasons, which are its social impact, its relation to Wisconsin, and alpacas! The main thing that stood out to me was its social impact because I really wanted to make a positive contribution to society in some way.
Do you believe that CAMPO can create a positive impact on other communities and the environment?
Absolutely! I have created tons of writing pieces covering the communities in Peru and how Campo works with them, so I have seen the numerous benefits.
What did you enjoy most about your internship experience at CAMPO?
The thing that I enjoyed most about working at Campo was working with Katie. She is so kind, supportive, and inspiring. Katie is a huge role model for me and has been an excellent mentor throughout my internship and beyond.
How has your CAMPO internship created an impact on your professional development and career?
Campo has guided my career choice because Katie let me work on a little bit of everything, so I was able to see what I enjoyed doing most. The marketing experience I gained at Campo is still helping me today, and I am so grateful I interned there.
